The Australian Museum’s iconic after-hours, adults-only party returns this February, so dust off your rainbows and sparkles! Whether you’re coming for the science, the silly, or the sing-alongs, this is a night for everyone; for our LGBTQIA+ community and allies, for the Jurassic Lounge loyalists and the first-timers.
A night of comedy, community and science will turn the spotlight on the queer heroes of STEAM. Get your costumes ready… Be who you want to be, whether it’s animal, mineral, vegetable or just fabulous you!
Lose yourself in galleries and hidden spaces, which will be brimming with DJs, comedians and scientists from all the colours of the rainbow. Take a walk on the Wild (Planet) side as the queens of Sydney Drag Royalty return to strut their stuff among the lions and tigers and bears (oh my!). Spinning the decks on the mainstage, MC extraordinaire Aunty Jonny will create the soundtrack to your dreams, while upstairs in Dinosaurs, Scary Strangers present their comic (yet oddly informative) autopsy of a T.rex. Be dazzled by rare rocks and gemstones in Minerals or delve beneath the surface of the blockbuster exhibition Sharks. There’ll be face-painting, drop-in drawing workshops, stand-up comedy, a pop-up bar, party games and much more!
