Woollahra Gallery at Redleaf is proud to be presenting four outstanding exhibitions as part of Woollahra Council’s celebration of WorldPride.

Ian Thomas, Pearlies 2 a solo exhibition that looks at a queering of East London Pearlie culture with its practice of working people adorning basic black suits with thousands of pearls to symbolise their involvement in charity fundraising

Michael Simms, Stages a series of painted portraits of Australian theatre luminaries created by Sydney-based artist, Michael Simms. It’s a tribute to the extraordinarily talented and hardworking performers who have been adversely impacted by the pandemic. Subjects include – Paul Capsis, Mitchell Butel and singer/songwriter Zaachariaha Fielding.

Armando Chant, Justine Roche, Fiona Curry-Billyard | Elements a group exhibition led by queer artist Armando Chant which considers the elemental. The artists within this exhibition aim to engage with these powerful elements, water, atmosphere or land, using primary metals, pigments and chemical processes that, through alchemy, change appearance to become liminal, sitting between one form or another. The exhibition hopes to explore the transient and mercurial nature of the elements and the environment around us.

‘What I Wish I’d Told You‘, by Claire Bridge and Chelle Destefano with Deaf community, centres Deaf voices, identity, language and culture.Auslan storytellers affirm Deaf experiences and diverse, complex identities, in an immersive exhibition of large scale video projections, which bring visitors into a Deaf world. In this collaboration of over seventy Deaf and hearing allies, empowered Deaf storytellers draw on decolonising strategies of truth-telling, provocation, and self-representation, to challenge audist colonisation of Deaf lives, bodies, language, and knowledges.
Woollahra Gallery at Redleaf is a cultural hub in the community; a destination where all are welcome. A place where everyone can explore, discover and engage.
