Queer As Fvck, a Sydney based performance art platform for queer/gender diverse artists celebrates Mardi Gras 2023 with Sydney's premier queer party band Gaia Rising and drag king performances.
Queer As Fvck (QAF), a Sydney based performance art platform for queer/gender diverse artists, was created in 2015 to promote independent LGBTQIA+ musicians and performance artists.
Since it’s inception QAF has created successful events for Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras, Sydney Pride Festival, Newtown Festival, Marrickville Festival as well as providing significant and ongoing advocacy for queer live music performers in Sydney and Melbourne.
QAF is excited to celebrate WorldPride 2023 at Sydney’s home of queer friendly, original live music, The Townie in the cultural/creative precinct of Newtown in Sydney’s Inner West. Featuring live sets from Sydney’s premiere queer party band, Gaia Rising and also including and drag performances from drag king extraordinaire Antonio Mantonio and many more TBA. This event will mark the 4th year QAF has partnered successfully with The Town Hall Hotel to combine queer, original rock’n’roll bands with drag performances and live comedy. All QAF events are hosted by drag queen Aunty Vesna who creates a safe, welcoming space that all members of the queer and wider community can enjoy.
