Salón Flamenco

Tickets $32 - $65

Mon 20 - Thu 23 Feb | 1 hour Stonewall Hotel

Love Flamenco? This radical performance event undermines expectations and ignores the rules. Live performances, film screenings, workshops and panel talks with local and international artists.

Experimental. Raw. Adventurous, Salón Flamenco explores gender, politics, history, movement and sound, de-mystifying this traditional art form.

Artists challenges boundaries and expectations of tradition through their unique lens’ and connection with Flamenco, questioning what it means to be Australian practising far from the motherland of Spain.

Connecting with pulse of what is piping-hot across Europe, the artists share a philosophy of practice, to open Flamenco to wider arts audiences and move away from exotic ethnicity to its contemporary relevance in Australia.
