Sydney Streets

The Glittering Mile is where it all began. In 1978 the party that became a protest started on Darlinghurst Road. In 2023 we come full circle, back to Kings Cross, to celebrate our community with camp sophistication and glamour.

Starting Saturday 18th February, Darlinghurst Road will be closed as part of the City of Sydney ‘Sydney Streets’ initiative. Local venues will throw open their doors and set up for an alfresco experience. Pull up a seat or stroll the neighbourhood – start with a shopping expedition, indulge in a bottomless brunch. Watch the passing parade, take in some street entertainment as day turns to night, and enjoy a cocktail, a snack or a 5-star meal.
