The Veterinary Kaleidoscope Summit

Mon 27 - Tue 28 Feb | 24 hours Harold Park Community Hall

The Veterinary Kaleidoscope Summit is the first ever face to face conference on diversity and inclusion in the veterinary industry in Australia.

The Veterinary Kaleidoscope Summit will bring together veterinarians, veterinary nurses, veterinary students and anyone in the veterinary industry to discuss diversity and inclusion in the veterinary profession in Australia.

Run, led and delivered by people from diverse backgrounds this will be a truly inclusive summit with panellists and presenters from LGBTQIA+, culturally and linguistically diverse, Aboriginal, religiously diverse, ethnically and racially diverse, physically diverse and neurodiverse backgrounds and lived experience.

Structured around the WorldPride themes we will gather to tell our stories. Dream of what a truly inclusive veterinary industry could look like, and Amplify our voices to have our needs heard.

Our gathering will include multiple storytelling panels with panellists from a wide variety of diverse backgrounds. In our dream presentations we will throw conventions out the window, we will put up the mad cap and crazy ideas, the ideas from out of left field. The second morning will focus on rights with key presentations on Aboriginal rights, Trans and Gender Diverse rights and Animal rights taking centre stage. And finally during our Amplify time we will look at how we are going to get our voices heard, in veterinary circles, in mainstream society, the good and the bad of doing so.

Overall TVK Summit will be an empowering 2 days that will not just open hearts but also stoke the fires of courage to tackle challenges and create real change to a better veterinary industry and society.
